I checked the fluid, bulbs, ground, relay (at the pedal), fuse. To the best of my knowledge everything checks out, the upper, or third brake lamp is working. I'm stumped the vehicle hasn't been in a wreck nor has any repairs been done prior to the lights not working. What gives?

Good morning,

I attached a wiring diagram for you to view.

If the third light works but the rear lights do not, then the first thing you should do is check for voltage at the connectors for the bulbs. If you have no power, then go to the splice that I attached and verify power to the splice.

It looks like you have a wiring issue.
