Rear wheel is locked up, the emergency cable is snapped because it wasn’t releasing. I already turned the the star at top of drum but still not releasing. What do I do now? The drum looks original and I’m trying to avoid taking drum off because it looks like original one. I’m trying to get it to release so I can sell it and don’t really want to put anymore money into.

Hi Lily,

Are you saying the parking brake release cable is broken off the release handle or the cable that runs to the parking brakes is broken?

Here is a resource in the event the brake drum is stuck:

However, it sounds like the brake is applied which is why the wheel doesn't turn. If this is the case then there is not enough adjustment in the adjuster that you turned in order to release the brake. You will need to actually release the lever in order to release it.

Attached is the procedure to do this. Hopefully this gets you what you need. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks
