Rear Blend Door Actuator Calibration

I installed a new one and now the air doesn't blow as cold even on the highest setting. I've heard that the actuator sometimes needs to be reset/re-calibrated. Does anybody know how to do this? I have it just hanging under the dash because I want to be sure it works for a couple of weeks before I put everything back. It was extremely difficult to remove.

You need to completely install the actuator and then run the calibration using the scan tool. One thing you can try and setting the temp all the way hot or cold with the actuator plugged in, then move the door with your finger and put it in this position so that air is blowing to match the setting and then install the actuator.

Otherwise you are going to need to have the procedure run.

Let me know if you have questions. Thanks

I believe it just snaps back in but I didn't do that yet and thought that it is just an anchor to hold it up there. I think the rotating portion isn't covered once it's snapped in. I just plugged the connection wire into it so that I could be sure the knocking noise stops for at least a week because the screws are very difficult to put back. Do I need to put it back for it to make the A/C work properly?

Yes. If you don't have the blend door actuator in then the door that "mixes" the air temperature and makes it hot or cold is not moving so it will most likely just blow warm air. Let me know if I am not understanding your question. Thanks
