Rear brakes replacement

I did front rotors and pads no problem. But can't figure out how to remove upper return spring. Can you help?

Hi,

Here is the procedure from the manual just so you have it. Also, here is a guide that will give you more detail. Also, are you using the proper rear drum tools? There are specific tools that are made to remove these springs and other components. If you don't have these tools, this video in the guide will show it can be done with out them.

Notice how when he is removing the upper spring he pulls it toward the outside of the shoes. Basically the spring has a hook on it and you need to overcome the spring tension and pull it off. Vice grips work as well.
