Hello,

I changed my catalytic converter that's located near the manifold. After replacing it, the check engine now lights solid on dashboard.
I went for a diagnosis test. It came up with error code: P0406 EGR TEMP SEN/CIRC
What's the solution?

Hi,

This model isn't offered in the US, but I will try my best to help.

The code indicates a high-voltage signal related to the EGR valve. Here are two things you can try at home:

First, remove the EGR valve, inspect it for carbon buildup, and make sure the integral pintle valve can move. If it is partially clogged in the valve or intake manifold, carefully clean it.

The second is the manifold. Make sure the passage from the EGR valve is free of corrosion or dirt. Again, if it is dirty, it will need to be cleaned as well.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

Have you checked the wiring to the sensor or the sensor itself? Since the problem started after you replaced the catalytic converter, my first thought is a wire has been pinched, broken, or disconnected. It's unlikely the sensor itself has failed, but anything is possible.

Let me know.

Joe
