Hey guys!

The vehicle listed above is a d40.
Tried priming fuel after ran out of diesel. Not sure if I'm doing it right as it still won't start.

After running out of fuel, I filled up, drove about 50km, then it lost power. Got a jump start drove home, now when I jump start, it starts up. (Revs fluctuate), but then dies as soon as I disconnect the leads. Sounds like a battery problem. Does that happen when you run out of fuel or is that just a coincidence?

Any advice from your experts about the best way to get started again would be legendary!

Hello,

A 50km run is certainly enough to fully prime the fuel supply system.
I believe it is a coincidence that the alternator is not charging

How to test:

Also check the battery connections:

Hi Boris, you were spot on! It was pure coincidence that the alternator was the culprit and not a fuel priming issue. Love your work bud, really appreciate you sharing your knowledge here, saved me a lot of time and headaches big time. Great website 2carpros! Highly recommend. Legend Boris, all the best.
