I have checked all fuses and wiring. I have power to radio and radio will not stay on. In fact when I push the button in to turn it on it seems to go off. I thought the radio was bad and replaced it with a new used radio that is 100% working. I put it in and have the same thing happen. Not sure where to go next.

Hello,

In the diagrams down below I have included a wiring diagram for your vehicle's radio. I would double check the ground for the radio. It appears to not be a wire but possibly a mounting screw/bolt to hold it in place. Make sure that the ground is clean, tight, corrosion free, and making good metal to metal contact. I have included a guide for inspecting grounds in the diagrams down below for you as well. Please let us know what you are able to find.

Thanks,
Alex

My car has an amplifier under the passenger seat( I just found it.) I push the button into turn it on when I do that it turns off, all the lights go off to. When I push the button again to turn it off it comes on for a few seconds and then goes off but the lights stay on.I can't use the CD either. This happens wth either radio I put in. Both are factory radios original equipment.

Hello again,

Well this sounds to me like the amplifier was already on when you found it, So when you press the power button to turn it on, you really turned it off. Then you pressed the power button to turn it off and you really turned it back on. Also amplifiers do not have CD players.

Thanks,
Alex

So sorry, I didn't explain myself verywell. The first time I asked the question I didn't know it had an amplifier and the wiring diagram didn't include the amp. The problem is with the radio I think because when I push the button into turn it on, ( when I do that) it turns off, all the lights go off too. When I push the button again to turn it off, it comes on for a few seconds and then goes off. The lights stay on, and I can't use the CD either. This happens wth either radio I put in. Both are factory radios original equipment.
PS. How do I tell if the amp is good? I have yet to hear any noise through the speakers no pops or even static.
I hope I have explained myself better than I did before.
