I have the vehicle listed above 4 door 2.2 LS with manual windows. I was wanting to put in a new head unit the head unit is a dual xd18bt I got the female plug from Walmart and the pins aren’t in the right spot so I’m just going to cut the connector off and hard wire it in but I can’t find a good diagram on google telling me what all the wires are for and how it should be hooked up I’m not 100 percent sure if it’s got a factory amp in it and if it does how would I get it to play with the aftermarket head unit and all the speakers this is kind of getting on my nerves and I’m to the point of given up any help would be great I don’t care if it’s perfect just something to get the tunes rolling again I provided some pictures to better understand what I’m going through and under the front passenger seat to hopefully tell if I got a factory amp and do I absolutely have to hook up the class two wire I don’t really care about the annoying door chimes any way.

Yep, got to have the tunes going, and you must know if the radio has an amp or not. So, if you have an amp then the wiring to the radio will have a dark blue and light blue wire right next to each other. Here is the basic radio wiring diagram so you can see how the system works. Check out the images (below). Let us know how it goes.

Yes, it does have a factory amp in it but not the two purple wires and can I put all the negatives going from the speakers together and all the positives together or would that be a no no.

Sorry, I see the images now and the system does have an amp, my bad. Do not put the purple wires to ground or the speak wires together, the speakers need to be wired individually. Here are the wiring diagrams for the amp style radio. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

Okay, what’s a cheap way to tell the polarity of the speakers Ik they make a device that puts out sound to tell which way the speaker are jumping but I don’t have access to it would a test light do the job And do I need to run a power wire to the head unit because none of them have power when the ignition is on all the diagrams say the orange wire is constant power but it’s not I even checked my fuses and the diagrams you sent has a pink wire b3 I don’t have a pink on the connector if I got a amp where would it be located?

On the speaker there will be one terminal that is larger than the other, this will be the positive side of the speaker. Yep, the orange wire is hot all the time, if not I would check the fuse. The amp is in the rear compartment. Check out the images (below). Let us know if you need anything else.
