All of a sudden after just starting my car and turning in the radio I noticed the sound was slightly popping and the noise would cut in and out. It starts crackling more with speed and more bass as I have the the days it happens a lot less and be riding down the road listening to full songs. Other days the sound constantly cuts in and out and I can’t understand a word my phone gps is saying that is plugged into aux. What’s the issue?

Welcome to 2CarPros.

When you say it cuts out, do you mean the radio shuts off and then back on? Does is seem all speaker are affected or just one or two? Have you checked for any loose wires behind the dash going to the radio?

Let me know.

Yes, all sound cuts out touch screen still on and says I’m playing music or listening to the radio. All the speakers cut out at the same time but the rear deck sub sounds very low and almost like it doesn’t have enough power when the radio is turned up and is not cutting out. Will be cutting out very little one day then a lot more the next. I have been wanting to get in and look at the wires plugging in to it but have not figured out how to get the radio out.

Based on your description, it sounds more like an amplifier issue. The vehicle has two separate ones. If you look at picture 1 below, it shows the sub-woofer amp. Picture 2 shows the audio amp. I would start there and check for connection issues.

Let me know what you find.

Thank you! I will get back there by this weekend and update you on my findings. I know the second picture shows the radio amp in the trunk. Is the subwoofer amp below it in the trunk as well or is that under the center console/ radio area?

Welcome back:

According to the schematics, they are both in the trunk.

Let me know what you find.

Hello again, I was finally able to get back in the trunk and remove all the fabric to get to the amp and the area the schematics say the sub amp is. I found the amp and looked toward the bottom, on top and around other areas of the trunk but was not able to find the sub amp. I think it is up near the sub woofer under the rear deck plastic cover behind my back seats. Will be looking into it sometime soon hopefully this weekend. Any extra thoughts?

Welcome back:

At this point, I really don't. Let me know if you locate the amp. I'm a bit confused why it wouldn't be where it was indicated.

Let me know.
