Is there a fuse inside the radio that will not let the radio come on when you crank the car? Long as I just turn on switch it plays but if I crank the car radio will not come on.

On almost all models, the radio, power windows, heater fan, and wipers are on their own ignition switch circuit, and that is turned off during cranking to make that power available for the very high-current starter. On a cold day, or when the battery is badly discharged, that could make the difference as to whether the engine starts or not.
