My cooling fan is making a horrible noise and needs to be replaced. How do you get that fan assembly out? From the top or the bottom? I can't find a video that shows the remove and replacement procedure. Anybody changed one of these.

Hi,

The fan assembly will be removed through the top of the vehicle. I attached the directions specific to your vehicle for the fan motor and shroud replacement.

The process is somewhat more than I expected. Do me a favor. Before you remove everything they suggest, see if you can access the bolts holding just the fan motor in place. If you can just remove it, you shouldn't have to remove everything listed.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Thanks Joe for your swift response. I looked at it again and found that the fan blade outer ring had broken in two areas causing it to hit the shroud. Can I just replace the blade assembly? Any way to get to it without dissembling half the front of the car?

Hi,

I believe you can get just the blower motor. However, other than a salvage yard, you may have a hard time finding the fan blade itself. Call around salvage yards to see. If you need to get the fan and shroud assembly, it won't be cheap.

As far as removal, if possible, take a picture of your fan assembly so I can confirm how it's secured. I have a feeling you will need to take everything apart, but hopefully, I'll be able to confirm it by seeing it.

Let me know.

Joe
