I did a major front end repair. Replaced sub-frame, transmission, axles. Everything but the motor up front. Put a brand new battery in it now and the push button start is orange. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi,

Is this orange all the time? If it is, does the engine start?

Usually this means there is an issue between the key and the immobilizer module which is behind the button. This is the module that detects the key to start the vehicle.

More than likely there will be some codes so let's get those pulled and then go from there. If you can't pull codes most parts stores can pull them free of charge. Thanks

Okay, this is telling you that there is an issue with the remote, the immobilizer (module behind the push button, or the overall starting system.

There are two "tricks" that you can do in order to get it started but we need to get codes pulled or have it looked at or you could reach the point where it doesn't start at all.

First, hold only the key fob (picture attached) against the push button and push the button to start while depressing the brake as normal. If this starts the vehicle then most likely your key is the issue. Could be a weak battery or just a faulty key.

Next you need to hold the key close to the button and then just push the button down and hold it until the engine starts. If this starts the vehicle then you have a failure in the overall system and it needs to be checked out or it may fail completely and then you are calling a tow truck.

Let me know if either of these gets it started and then we need to get the codes. Thanks
