Recommended psi for my car is 32 front 31 rear and mine read about 33-32 in front and back in 80 degree weather but read 36-33 a month or so ago. Would the consistent 30-40 degree weather cold front’s we’ve been having this past month effect the psi that much even if it’s hot out now?

Hi:

Colder temperatures cause the air to contract and become denser. As a result, the pressure drops. So, in general, yes, the temps cause issues with tire pressure. Usually, a tire will drop 1 psi for every 10 degrees F of temperature drop.

Keep in mind, the cold won't cause it to increase in pressure. Is that what has happened?

Let us know.

Joe
