Programing new key coil and tumbler/key

Van was stolen, driven around no drivers license. No insurance. Got key back but thief jacked ignition and drove around some more before I got it towed. No charges, great cops. Got a used coil from 1999 Ford truck and key and tumbler online that said no programing required. Well, lights on dash all come on but no starter engagement.

Good morning,

It is not as simple as it sounds. The key has to be programmed to the IN and the cluster. You need an IDS Ford scan tool for this operation.

If you do not have it, I would call a locksmith and have them come to you and program it right there on site.

You were given inaccurate information from the person you purchased the key from.

In small town no lock smith within 2 hour drive. Can I send ignition and key out to get programed, maybe to a Ford dealer?

The whole vehicle needs to be present for the programming.
