Problem starting sometimes

Sometimes I get in my car and it wouldn't crank it'll show up field field safe mode gearbox fault. After about thirty minutes It'll crank. When the fail-safe start mode is on it would not let you pull a code up, computer will not give you a diagnostic code.

Hmm, it should pull codes anytime. can you try the code reader on another car to confirm the reader is working? It sounds like the car is going into limp mode which I have seen a dirty throttle bore cause this.This guide can help:
