Hi,

I'm trying to replace my water pump, but the problem is that on the 2016 model the engine is too close to the frame that electric water pump is not able to get out. Someone mentioned to me that we need to lower the engine a bit to give enough room to replace the part. Seems right because I don't see any other way without moving the engine a bit to get the part out.
What do you guys think? Is that correct or is there another way to replace the water pump?

Hi,

I have the directions. There are different things that need to be removed to access it. Also, the engine will need to be supported and lowered.

Take a look through the directions and let me know if you have questions. There are several steps. If you need help with any of them, let me know.

Take care,

Joe

Will the engine only drop about two inches because of that one motor mount, or will it drop further? I'm just a little nervous to lower something by twisting the jack bar just enough to lower it but not too much. I just want to be sure.
I'm thinking it will lower automatically with the removal of the top mount, but you need the jack to raise back up again to put the motor mount on again.

Hi,

It will lower until it gets wedged. Just take your time. If you remove the upper mount, it will drop and jam or drop too far. You need the jack under it.

Would it be okay to keep the jack 2 inches below or a stand(s) with wood? Like can a jack take a drop of weight on it?
Also, would there be an issue with putting motor mounts back on because the bolts need to be aligned just right?
Is it a possibility to pick up the engine an inch or so instead of dropping it?

Hi,

As far as lifting, it will have to go too high, and the mounts won't allow that to happen.

Yes, it can be a little bit of a pain to realign everything, but it's not too hard.

Have pressure on the block of wood before removing the mount. Then, slowly lower it. Don't have the block of wood lower than the motor. You don't want it to drop.

Let me know.

Hi,

No problem whatsoever. Just take your time and remember the engine isn't light, so be careful.

If you have questions, let me know. Also, let me know how things work out for you.

Take care,

Joe
