While driving I'll hear a clicking sound and then my steering is stiff, then I'll hear another clicking sound and my steering is back to normal.

Hello,

Clicking sounds while turning typically points to a faulty CV axle.
When the CV boot fails, it allows dirt and debris to enter the joint. Which creates noise along with other issues.

Usually, a leaking boot will have grease coming out of it. And it will likely be on other suspension components.

Inspecting the CV axle would be a good place to start.

Here is a helpful guide:

Please let me know what you find.
Thank you.
