When I purchased this car a few weeks ago, there was a noise coming from the engine bay immediately when I started it. It sounded like the power steering system. First, I checked all the fluids. The power steering fluid level was just above the min line. I removed 3.5 pints of power steering fluid and filled it between the min - max lines with the 3.5 pints oem Honda power steering fluid. Now, a few weeks later and the noise only occurs when I turn the steering wheel in either direction. There are a number of possibilities. I heard that these Honda's have a common problem with the o-rings needing to be replaced that can cause this as the o-rings were recalled with a new better rubber o-rings. I did not see any major leaks. Also, I noticed that only the passenger side radiator fan comes on and the driver side fan does not. What do you advise to diagnose and repair the noise?

This is common when the fluid needs to be flushed. here is a video that shows how to do the service:

Please run down this guide and report back. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can hear the noise? that would be great. You can upload it here with your response.

When I turn the steering wheel to the right and left, it sounds like a whinning or winding noise that is typical of power steering that needs service in the system. I created a video of it for you and tried to upload it twice, it crashes in mid stream and deletes my reply wbile waiting up to 5 minutes for it to upload to a reply. I imagine you have heard it before lots of times.

Sorry, my video upload failed both attempts. I was not able to upload it.

I have not done the flush, but have watched and appreciate the video of it. It is a very good video. It looks like the best way to do a full fluid flush.

Thanks,
