My name is Keith. I replaced my power steering pump and gearbox a while back and I am having issues that I didn’t have before. In the morning my wheel will turn good the first couple of turns but after that it becomes hard to steer while parked or slow speed. I took the cap off while the engine was running and noticed some air bubbles coming out of the return line. What do you think I need to do? Thank you!

Good afternoon.

I would start by flushing the system with about 1 gallon of fluid.

Remove the return line to the pump and aim it into a bucket. Run the motor and add fluid as it leaks into the bucket until the fluid is clean.

Beyond that, you will need to test the pressure of the pump output to verify it is correct.
