Brake Booster

I have a 1985.5 Porsche 944. I am replacing the brake master cylinder. However, I understand there are two types. The selection depends on whether you have a Girling or ATE booster.
How can I identify the type I have. I don't see a name on either item.

Second, do you know a site where I can see the setup of the master cylinder, including direction of the piston seals.

Thanks

Porsche parts typically have the Porsche part number on the part itself somewhere.

The information I have tells me a Girling booster is part number 944 355 023 00 and the Ate' booster is 944 355 023 11

My parts software doesn't have an exploded view of the master cylinder, so I can't help you there. I can see why you'd want to rebuild the master (if that's what you're doing) since a new one is NOT cheap.

Try pelicanparts. Com too. That place is a wealth of good Porsche information

Good luck,
Kevin
