1997 Pontiac Transport Sliding door

My sliding door no longer automatically opens and closes with the swithches in the Van. I heard there is a way to reprogram the system to work? Do you know how to reprogram the door.

In addition, the sliding door power lock no longer works. All other power locks work. Is this something that can be reprogrammed?

A couple of years ago my father told me there was a recall on our vans sliding doors. At the time my van needed an engine. I dont know if we are still eligable for that recall.
