I HAVE A PONTIAC TRANSPORT 1995 3800 INTERMINTENTLY IT WILL NOT START FOR A PERIOD OF TIME 5 MIN TO 12 HRS
ENGINE SPINS VERY FAST AND WILL RUN IF GIVEN STARTER FLUID OR GAS STRAIGHT TO AIR INTAKE
I MAY HAVE TO REPEAT THIS MANY TIMES BUT EVENTUALLY MOTOR WILL STAY STARTED!
ENGINE KNOCKS EXCESSIVLY ON INITIAL STARTUP ONLY WHEN USING STARTER FLUID.

I HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND FILTER
USED FUEL ADDITIVES TO CLEAN SYTEM
REPLACED PLUGS AND GAPED
CHECKED AND REPLACED VACUM HOSES
FUEL IS AT THE RAIL

Did you actually check the fuel system pressure? You need to confirm this with a fuel pressure gauge designed for your Make/Model. Lets do this and comeback with the readings this is where we start before we get into the ignition system and engine management system.

You're not getting fuel- We'll get to the bottom of this. BTW do you hear the fuel pump when key is at On postion. I need to know this. Could also be the ignition switch
