how much should it cost to replace a rear brake line. i don't know if it is the steel or the flex line that needs replacing. so i guess how much would either one cost.

Only takes approx. 30 - 45 minutes to replace one brake line and bleed system. That is approx. $40 - $50 in labor fees, plus the cost of the new line. Brake lines are pretty cheap and are sold by length so just call your local auto part store to see what there pricing is.
