2004 Pontiac Sunfire Trac Off Light On/Car won't start

My 2004 Pontiac sunfire's Trac Off light came on while driving it this morning. Sometimes it comes on if I take a corner too sharp, or hit a bump, but goes out a few seconds later. This morning I was on smooth road when it came on and stayed on. After I got home, then later tried to start my car, it wouldn't start. Would crank briefly, then die. Car would not accelerate at all. I pressed the accelerator to the floor with no response. What was the Trac Off light telling me, and is this something that's expensive to fix? Thanks
