2001 Pontiac Sunfire loud rattle, clunking sound coming fro

My car was running fine, then all of a sudden it started making very loud rattle and clunking sound, almost like a loud tick as well. I had to have it towed, their supposed to look at it tomorrow. It was coming from engine, the oil looked fine and there were no hoses off that I could see. Help!

Hi there,

This is all sounding a bit drastic indeed. Hopefully it is just something minor externally that has failed, but if it is an internal problem, like a dropped valve or a cracked piston, be prepared for a large repair bill, please post with the mechanics findings.
