Engine Cooling problem
1991 Pontiac Sunbird 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive

the fuse was blown that protects the radiator fan motor. This fuse is also ahead of the ac blower fan. I replaced the radiator fan motor and the fuse. The radiator fan and ac blower began working for about 1 hours worth of driving. The fuse failled. Is there a radiator fan relay that could be defective and where is it located? Maybe I have overlooked another cause for the problem.

Hi jay phipps,

Thank you for the donation.

The cooling fan relay is located at left of brake booster.

If it is the Heater- A/C fuse ( 25 A ) that failed, you would need to check the starting and charging circuit as well. Relays are seldom the cause of shorting, unless the component it is connected to is good but does not operate.

Was the correct rating fuse used?
Is the blower fan motor tested good?
