1986 Pontiac Sunbird

Hi,

My sister's mercedes was sitting idle for a while (6months - 1 year, I'm guessing). According to the mechanic, the gas became old and damaged her gas tank.

Should we be changing the fuel if our car is not being used?

Hi there,

What he is referring to is stale fuel, it is not a real problem, what i would do is if not a lot in the tank, change the filter a top up with fuel add a can of fuel treatment and try and sue up the tank quickly, you may only notice a small drop in performance but there will be no damage done,
