Why is this happening

I have a 1970 pontiac catalina with the Big Block 400 with 103000 miles this is a daily driver and must be fixed I have replaced the hoses thermosdate and water pump and my car keeps is over heating what could be causing this

It's most likely a bad head gasket (is it running bad?) Or a bad gauge.
But it could also be any of these if it is just running hot- clogged vents in the radiator, clogged coolant passages, bad fan or pure antifreeze, improper carb settings, or the radiator not pressurizing.

I dont think its the head gasket it runs great just hot I also dont think its the carb because it happened after a dryrotted hosee blew it might be the guage im going 2 buy another

Could be low on coolant too. But a gauge on a car that old isn't unheard of.
