2000 Pontiac Montana clicking when trying to start

When I try to start the vechial it makes a clicking noise like the battery is dead and it will not start. It doesn't do this all the time. What could cause this?

A weak starter can also give a symptom of a faulty battery. Have your charging system as well as your starter tested. This can be done off or on vehicle.
