Hello everyone I'm new here.I removed the upper and lower intake manifolds because I had coolant leaking into the crankcase but found the newer type gaskets already in place. My question is can i, at this point, do a compression test to see if it is my head gaskets, or should I just go ahead and and change them regardless?I have the push rods out along with the old gaskets. Thanks

Since you already have it torn apart I would go ahead and replace them. If the engine is already equipped with newer gaskets then you may need to check into what is causing them to fail so quickly (unless engine was previously rebuilt for other reasons).

Thanks for using 2CarPros. Com!
