Car randomly honking/security system

My 2001 Grand Prix, 104,000 miles has recently started randomly honking, like the security system has been set off. It happens during the day, in the middle of the night, with nothing around it to set it off. When we have intentionally tried to set it off, it won't go off. It just spent 50 bucks for the mechanics to find nothing. The computer has been restarted as well, but it still honks. Does anyone have any ideas about why this is happening? Thanks.

I also have a 2001 Grand Prix and the only way I found to intentionally set off the alarm system is to put the window down, lock the doors with the remote, reach into the car and manually unlock the door, then open it from the outside. I haven't had the problem of it automatically honking during the night, but instead occasionally while I'm actually driving. I'll be watching to see if anyone else knows why the honking is actually occurring. Thanks for posting the question.
