2005 Pontiac Grand Prix Glove box

What is the correct method of removing the glove box to access the blend door and temp actuator on this model?

Hello and thanks for the donation!

To gain access to your vehicle's air temperature actuator you must first remove the right side instrument panel insulator. To do this, remove the 3 fasteners and rotate the lamp. Remove the lamp from the insulator then remove the insulator.

Then you must remove the instrument panel compartment by using the finger opening to remove the access hole cover from the right I/P compartment. Pull the I/P outboard trim plate rearward in order to release the retainers. Remove the I/P trim plate and open the I/P compartment. Disengage the compartment door stop using the following procedure:

Press the upper door stop toward the center of the vehicle
Rotate the door away from the compartment

Pull the I/P accessory trim plate rearward slightly for access to the I/P inboard trim plate. Pull the I/P inboard trim plate toward the passenger door opening. Remove the trim plate.
Remove the compartment screws then disconnect the wiring harness retainers at the rear of the compartment. Pull the compartment from the instrument panel. Disconnect the electrical connector from the compartment lamp switch then remove the compartment.
