Brakes problem
2004 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 97k miles

i was recently told by a brake guy that someone put the wrong type of brake fluid in the system and now the entire system has be replaced. is there another way to fix this instead of spending 2800 on a new system?

If brakes are otherwise working, drain/flush/bleed entire system.

Brake fluid is not only the hydraulic component, but also lubricates seals.

What kind of fluid was put in car?
