What does the air flow sensor look like? Where is it located?

It is in airstream to throttle body and measures the volume of air to engine, this info is used to set fuel and ignition MAPS. There are two different types depending on date of manufacture:

You can buy a MAF cleaner at any autoparts stores, I would try to clean it before replacement. Also change air filter, if dirty, it will cause unreliable MAF output readings.
