2002 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

The highbeams are no brighter than the lowbeams. The highbeam indicator is dimly lit during lowbeam operation, but is bright during highbeam operation. Changing to new bulbs had no effect. What could the cause be?

Start by having the charging system tested at most autoparts stores, especially under load (high beams on).
