For the last couple weeks my car sounds like it is powering down when I turn off the engine. Tonight I was driving home and my check engine light came on. The powerdown noise lasts for approx 4-5 seconds. The car still appears to be running fine, just the noise.

What u should do is to check it out where the noise came from and scan the engine codes.

All I can guess is the engine running hot? That why the cooling fan come on. Fan blades may touched somethings? Or the fan motor itself.
