I have a 2000 GTP with the supercharger. It has about 85,000 miles and the supercharger is making a significant amount of 'rattling" noise like there are bearings about to go out on it. I was told this is not unusual for this supercharger. Is that correct and should I worry about it going out on me? Noise seems to have gotten a little worse in the past few months.

Your only option is to remove the S/C belt and run it that way or replace the supercharger. Over time the bearing will get louder and there is a possibility it could lock up or break. You could check the oil level and make sure its full, or even change the supercharger oil. Superchargers will make a distinctive "whine", not a rattle. Most likely there is a bad bearing in the supercharger.
