2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Car won't start on first try

I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP with 132,000 miles on it. We just replaced the fuel pump two days ago and now when I go to start it, it will not start on the first try. It takes three tries everytime. I was wondering what this could be? Thanks so much.

Test the engine coolant temperature sensor this is the one that tells the computer to throw fuel at it-till it switches and the oxygen sensor takes over-Unless you still have a fuel pressure problem-
