1999 Pontiac Grand Prix is the temp switch and temp sensor

I recently asked a question here about my 99 grand prix gt and maybe is a stupid question im about to ask. Is the coolant temp sensor and coolant temp switch the same cause im showing the same part number for the car. And where can I locate the temparature switch for the gauge. Thank you very much again!

No such thing as a stupid question. On your car it looks like the Coolant Temp Sensor and the Coolant Temp switch are the same, the ECM does the rest
