Engine Cooling problem
1995 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I need to know how many censors there are for the coolant fans. I have replaced 2 and the fans still wont kick on until the thermostat reads 230. None of the fuses are blown we have checked those and the thermostat is new.

The radiator fan is not energized by the PCM until the coolant temp. Has reached greater than 223F. There is only 1 engine coolant temp. Sensor and since the fans do come on that indicates the fuses and relays are good as well. The only thing left on the fan circuit is the powertrain control module ( PCM). If they come on at 230 I would not worry about it at all.
