Is it difficult to replace the a/c compressor on a 1995 Pomtiac Grand Prix? How about the exhaust manifold? Can they be done w/o taking it to a mechanic? Just asking cause I have found the parts I need online cheap and of course would like to save some money. Thanks

Hi
No need to remove exhaust just belt, splash shield, elect connectors and lines. Do you have means to discharge, evacuate and recharge? Also if old compressor shelled lots of metal will be in system and needs flushing. And will need new accumulator and orfice tube. And make sure proper amount of oil is added.
Hope this helps
Thanks for donate

Put 1oz in accumulator add 3oz to system. If compressor new or rebuilt check to see if oil is inside. If yes drain measure if @ 1oz. Put back and add as I have said. If 6oz or so comes out return to compressor but onlt add 1oz to accumulator leave out the 3 oz. Flushing should be done by a shop don't no of a parts house kit for that. Question is what took out compressor? If your not sure then this compressor may fail also.
Bottom line is Ac work is rather technical I know your trying to save money but you may end up spending more.
