1994 pontiac grand am 3.2 engine
car wont start- no fire
connected computer scanner to car and it reads
unable to communicate- check engine lite works
tried another scanner and it read the same thing
do I need a new ecm? :

Hi there,
It sounds like the ECM may have an internal fault. Has the battery been spiked, or has any welding been done on the car? As this can cause a voltage spike that can damage the ECM, Just check for a main engine fuse or a ECM, ECU fuse first, you can install a test ECM to help pin point the fault. Your auto supplier may be able to help with this.
