I Have a 94 Pontiac Grand Am 3.1 6v 140,000 miles. My ABS light is on. My rear brakes do not work correctly. The shoes, pads, drums are good. I was told that when I step on the brakes the rear brakes are not squeezing together like should to stop. And possible that my ABS computer is out. That is why my brakes are not squeezing like should. I have front brakes jus not my rear. Any ideas?

I also have a 1994 Pontiac Grand AM 3.1 L V6 with 160,000 miles and I'm having nearly the same problem except when the ABS light is off I have to push the brakes to the floor to come to a complete stop. When the light is on the brakes will pretty much lock up if I depress them all the way, but they still help me slow down before locking up. It's almost like the car recognizes that the ABS isn't working correctly so is overrides the ABS. I've been told its something electrical, but I'm doughting that. The drums, shoes, and pads are still good. Any ideas?
