My wife's grand am is having issues that point to the alt. But tests show it to be good, a few weeks ago the security light started flashing and I had her use the key ing the ignition for the 30 minute time limit and it started she didn't believe it would work but now the battery light comes on, my first instinct is the alt. But tests show it to be good, the battery was replaced when the security light started flashing going to have both testes again but i'm thinking that the security system is keeping it from charging the battery but not for sure i'm lost at the moment please help with this problem

I'm thinking that the security system is keeping it from charging the battery. If it was the security guard I don't think it will start or do anything

Is it cranking over and refuses to start or won't crank at all/nothing be specific so I can help

Check the wiring harness connection if okay-get the computer field generation control circuit tested. This is the one that controls the alternator field windings.
