2000 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

So I tried all of the other steps used to try and low budget fix my ignition lock and get it to become unstuck and no luck. Before I give in and spend all the money to have it replaced I have a question. Since my key does NOT have a chip in it could it be possible to have a locksmith have a go at trying to turn it over and maybe refit the key?

Most likely would NOT work out.

Have you tried all of the suggestions on our "First Things to Check" page? There is some great info. There about this common issue. It is listed on that page under the "Electrical Issues".
