This morning when I started my car the fuel guage was registering properly. This envening I started my car and the fuel guage indicated empty and the warning light (low fuel) was on. I had over 1/4 of a tank and added another 10 gallons and it continue to register empty. All the dash lights are working properly.

There is a float inside the gas tank that is part of the whole fuel pump assembly. I don't know if it may have gone out or maybe it has to do with something outside of it like electrical. I changed my fuel pump recently and the kit came with a new fuel gauge float but is not the same like the original one the car came with. It takes a lot longer to register fuel and sometimes when I am low on fuel it makes the light go on when I know I still have a couple of gallons left
