Engine Cooling problem
1999 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl Automatic 200000 miles

I have a 100% water loss. I have filled my collant system and with in a block of driving my low collant light comes on. Sure enough my reserve is dry and my car begins to overheat. I am loosing water from the overfill hose like crazy, only when the car is on. Not sure if it is the thermastat, gasket, or water pump. The water pump is dry

Hi:
I need you to try something. Take the radiator cap off (with the engine cold and full of coolant). Start the engine. Does the water shoot from the radiator?

Let me know.
