1999 Pontiac Grand Am Power steering comes and goes

Power steering comes and goes and multiple dashboard lights and warning chimes come on when this happens.

Any ideas?

If your check engine light is on, have codes read at most autoparts stores for free.

Also inspect PS pressure and return lines and PS pump for any leaks.
Inspect steering rack for leaks, which would indicate a rack seal problem.
