When my car is on and in park after about a minute of running quietly and smoothly it starts wanting to shut off then u will hear a loud pop coming from some were near the back of the car

Could be a lot of things, but I would have a backpressure test performed on the convertor, it may be clogged or partially clogged.

Is your check engine light on?

Other possibilities are EGR valve, fuel pressure.
