I have a 99 Grand Am that was getting warm on my drive home, I pulled over and found the radiator cap had blown off, then car would not start. Had it towed, after several hours of sitting finally got it started but it runs very rough. No water in oil and refilled with coolant. Any suggestions on what could be the problem. Thanks

Has the check engine light come on? How hot did it get and how far was it driven that way?

The check engine light never came on, the car usually runs about 210 Â, as soon as it got to 220 Â I pulled to the side of the road and the car had shut it self off. I did get it running last night but still is running very rough at idle and I can see where there is water blowing against the fire wall, can not see if it is a hose leak or water pump, no clue. Thanks.

If it is leaking back there it is either the intake (cause a rough idle) or it could be a heater core hose. What I recommend is this. Go to the local parts store and rent a colling system pump so you can pressure test the system when it is cold. Pressurize it and using a mirror, check to see where the leak is coming from.

Let me know what you find.
